On June 16, Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) New Jersey will hold its fifth annual Korean Peninsula Unity Event at the Korean Community Center in Tenafly, New Jersey. Hundreds are expected at this year’s gathering, which will feature Korean affairs expert Dr. Yong Soo Seol. Peace advocates and other citizens who dream of reunification are encouraged to attend.
This year’s theme is Korean Peninsula Unity: Step Forward to Lasting Peace. It is the hope of WFWP and its affiliate, the Universal Peace Federation (UPF), that civil society will engage in dialogue and take action to encourage peace on the Korean Peninsula. Therefore, guests will have the opportunity to speak with Dr. Seol and ask questions about his lifelong efforts toward reunification. In addition to the keynote address, attendees will gain a historical view of the challenges facing both Koreas, which further complicate efforts toward reunification.
WFWP hopes that this event will segway to future opportunities, such as pilgrimages for South Koreans to visit their relatives in the north. As always, WFWP is emphatic that “not one drop of blood be shed in the process of peace and Unification.”
